I have buddy, ive been telling to try the Z's for ages. Hes always buying something new. Well he just got a komet constellation 30 watt head. 30 watts.... bit like Z's 18 watts... LOUD! So hes finally gonna get some Z love, an airbrake! Hes got thd gear, but has been reading stuff on the airbrake and found a guy in the staes willing to send over. I hope it likes the Komet, and doesnt turn it in to constipation. Ive recommended a few things that went sour for him. One mans gold is another mans garbage. But sofar he loves the constipation, er consolation, er collaboration, er you know what i mean.
Has anyone seen the crappy looking Komet airbrake??? Very ordinary. Nice amps tho :-) Knopfler cant be wrong? :-)

Someone pointed me to www.ultrasoundampsales.com/ where they have a load of sound clips of a lot of high end amps, and they have the Komet attenuator there - yeah, looks like a piece of garage kit. I spent a bit of time listening to all those high end amps, and I concluded I like the sound of the Z amps the most. Some of those amps have so much saturation going on...

I found the Trainwreck and Komet brake don't provide enough attenuation. I have owned both, and sold them the next day. The Z brake works just fine for my setup.

Hey Steve, his first take on the constellation is that is has heaps of saturation, yes. He also said the thing is damn loud. Louder than his F50 boogie, which i had one of and they are seriously loud 50 watt head. He has a problem :-) But he likes the Gary Moore knid of saturated tone, so he likes it, but is fiddling with tubes to try and tame it a bit, as well as the airbrake. Man its a great looking piece of kit, the timber work is sensational.

Steve what is the wattage rating(limit) of the brake. Just wondering if it's ok with my Komet. Paul Seems I read somewhere here that it is limited to 100 watts. Oh yeah, there is is on the Dr. Z web page - check the Airbrake page.

Hi Don, FYI, Mark Knopfler isn't playing Komets anymore. I'd like to repeat what I heard, but it's hearsay only.
