Avatar are doing the hotplates for 269 delivered. Thats pretty cheap huh? I sold my mass a couple weeks ago, just wasnt using it. Thinking a 8 ohm hotplate might be cool at that money. Can get the Docs for 300 tho. Sure would help that tinnitus...

The Hot Plate has a lot of useful features, and a few that don't seem to be all that useful, but they are pretty good attenuators.

Hi Azatplayer, don´t forget that the Airbrake can be used for 4. 8 and 16 ohm cabs. If you go with the Hotplate you need another one if you pair two cabs not being 8 ohm. The Airbrake is some bucks more and very useful. I use it with my Mazerati GT and MazJr. I think Dr. Z knows which attenuator is the right one for his amps.

That is true - the Hot Plate comes in 2, 2.7, 4, 8, and 16 ohm versions. The Airbrake works for everything between 4 and 16 ohms. That does make the Airbrake a bit more handy at times.

All my stuff is 8 ohm, not to say i may end up with a 16 ohm cab at some point. But youre right the airbrake is more versatile in that way. The hotplate is the most well known here in Aus, so would be easy to offload if I still didnt like it. Theyre 600 dollars here...
