Just got my AB for my Stang yesterday. Very nice working little unit. I like it alot better than the Hotplate I sold to buy it. Definately a good investment for smaller clubs and practice.

What was the difference in sound? I have a Hot Plate and think it sounds pretty good compared to the Marshall Power Brake.

What was the difference in sound? I have a Hot Plate and think it sounds pretty good compared to the Marshall Power Brake. I have clips that compare the two on my gear page. Here's the two at approximately -8db: Airbrake: www.gear.strayca.com/audio/attenuators/000005.mp3Hot Plate: www.gear.strayca.com/audio/attenuators/000012.mp3These were done with the RXES. From my experience with these devices, some work better with one kind of amp than with another. Not surprisingly, I think the Hot Plate sounds best on the THD amp I have here. But the Airbrake sounds excellent on the THD amp too. I'm not real fond of the Hot Plate on the SRZ-65 though - it introduces a real top end buzziness that to me isn't as pleasant as the tone I get from the Airbrake.
