I just got my airbrake in and now I need some cables. I will be using it with a Maz Jr 1 x 12 combo.
The stock speaker to amp output cable is too small. What is the recommended gauge wire for this part. I can re-do this cable no problem unless someone suggests a better alternative. If I do rebuild it myself, what length would you suggest?
Secondly, I then need a new cable to go from the amp output to airbrake. Any helpful tips on what type and where to purchase this?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Well any good quality 2-lead copper-wire with gauge from 1.25 to 2.5 square-mm area will do fine - for connection between amp-output and the Airbrake & connection between the Airbrake and the cab.
Also get a pair of Switchcraft or Neutrik connectors to solder on at each end of the cable.
You should not use a microphone type of cable.
Make shure the cable connectors matches the connectors at the amp out and Airbrake in. Likewise of course for the cable between Airbrake Out and the cab in.
I use 2-lead 2.5 square-mm Supra-Cable. 625 oxygen-free copper strands in each lead. Simply 'cause I bought a lot of that cable when I built the PA-rigg for my band once.
You would normally not put your Airbrake very far from your amp - right? If the the cable is the dimensions I specified, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the input on cabling. The airbrake will be either on top of the amp or just off to the side.

Got my Airbrake rigged up today and had a ton of fun getting my power tubes fully up and runnin' Now my wife is very happy since the artwork on the walls don't rattle anymore Contrary to popular opinion I even enjoy the bedroom levels. You just have to get down at speaker level and you get some nice bass response. Sounds like fun for recording I would say.

I'm pretty excited about it. Ordered a 2x10" Z-cab with the Route66 så I'll have two different - actually three no four cabs - if I count various monitor cabs - to try out with the Route.
1) Dr-Z 2x10" w inhouse speakers. 2) Hornloaded 1x12" with an EVM-12L 3) Small wedge closed cab with a "Fostex 12" used for Vocal monitoring (the speaker is meant for guitar) 4) A Max column-speaker with 2x12" Fostex double-cones. These are good on vocals maybe they will work with guitar.
Well we'll see - Cheers: Dixiechicken

prettynoiselab, I missed this thread before. Give Todd a pm. You will find him as pcns. He's a cable maker. Very high quality and he's a great guy. He'll build you what ever you need at a good price. I use his cables from amp to brake to cab and highly recommend it.
