Can I use my Air Brake with a 2 ohm speaker load as in a Fender Super Reverb safely?
Thanks,
Jamey

Are you sure you can't use an Air Brake with a super? Crap. I thought you could use the AB with any impedance?

Are you sure you can't use an Air Brake with a super? Crap. I thought you could use the AB with any impedance? Dr. Z recommends 4 to 16 ohms only for the Airbrake. If you can find one, THD used to make a 2 ohm Hot Plate. There may be others out there that will work on 2 ohms. Here's a page that shows the THD item: thetubestore.com/hotplate2.html

I called the DR and he said it wouldn't harm the amp or the AB but that it wouldn't sound very good. I bought this amp and I love it! And it isn't as loud as I thought so I can by without the AB. Also, my Analogman TS-9 sounds incredible through this amp set clean. Fat & thick.

Is there another good alternative for 2 ohm amps other than the very expensive (to me) THD model?

^^^
I thought Weber might offer one, but it appears their models have selectors to choose between 4-8-16 only. However, you might contact them to see if they have something.
