I have had many push-pull amps in the past that have been able to be effectivel halved in wattage by simply pulling half of the power tubes. Namely. with my Twins, and Jubillee pulling both of the inner or both of the outer 6L6's brought the wattage down to 40's in wattage. Is this possible with the Mazerati? I own a 2004 V2 combo with dual blues and love the sound but would like to tame the volume on certain occasions without the tone-sucking qualities of the attenuators I have. Thanks for your attention guys. This forum is responsible for my seeking and buying this Rati and I am eternally grateful. Now I also own a Monza head with convertible 1X10 cab in which I am experimenting with other 10" speakers and guys I see many mnore Z's on my personal horizon...this s"&t is fun!

I don't believe that is recommended with this amp. The power section design is quite different from a Fender. Even on the Fender, doing that alters your output impedance, so you're running into the wrong load. But the bias scheme on the 'rati won't like a pair of empty sockets, if I'm remembering the previous thread on this subject...
