Hi all. I'm a new user here, so my apologies if this question has been asked and answered previously. I just ordered an Air Brake through Long & McQuade in Toronto and I'm wondering how long I can expect to wait for it to arrive.
I've done a fair amount of research on the various attenuators available and the AB sounds like the answer to my dreams; I have a nice little collection of small amps, but it's rare that I get the opportunity to push any of them into the "tone zone". My Deluxe Reverb isn't a big amp, but it's often too loud for most of the gigs I play, and at home even my Z-Vex Nano Head is too loud to crank. (I live in an apartment.) So now that I've made my decision to get the AB, I'm impatient for its arrival (while recognizing, of course, that good things are worth waiting for...).

Can't answer your first quesiton. It all depends on how fast the Dr. can make them and get them out. Probably has to clear customs since your in the Great White North... I waited about two weeks for mine, but the store owner had ordered them weeks prior... That question is best answered by the folks you ordered it from.
As far as uisng the Z-Brake, I can say this. I don't know how I lived (for three months) without one. I can honestly say the tone I have is "my tone" with the Z-Brake. I use it all the time. Never without it. I've got that nice Jimmy Page broken/crackly tone using it. I can roll off on the guitar vol to clean it up a bit, then pour it back on. Sort of like BW's tone, but a little cleaner. He runs more pre-gain than I'm willing too.
I normally use the Bedroom setting and roll the Bedroom Level Knob to get the right volume. For live / band use, I switch it to the 3 or 4 setting depending on the song. For recording, the Bedroom level is perfect. For late night jamming in an appartment, you can really clamp the sound down to like a normal listening level. Probably about the same DB as your TV at normal volume. Your neighbors will be happy.
It really makes the MAZ Sr sing. If anyone was buying a Z amp today, I'd tell them to just go ahead and add the z-brake to the order, you can't really loose. It really adds a whole new dimension to the amp.
good luck!

Thanks Paul. L&M's helpful answer to the question of how long the wait would be was: "Don't know." I guess I can wait a month if necessary. But like all guitarists, what I really want is instant gratification. Up here in Canada, L&M is (as far as I know) the only retailer stocking any Z products, and they seem to be getting into it ve-r-r-ry tentatively. I'm curious about the amps, but the only one I've seen is the Mini. I spent a long time trying it out and liked it a lot. I decided to take a pass since I've already got a few small amps -- and the next time I went back, it was gone. Oh well, somewhere in Toronto, somebody's having fun with it.

Well, I ordered it on Friday and it arrived today, so I can't complain about that! I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Will,
I ordered it from Bloor and Ossington. I think I must have lucked out and piggybacked onto a previous order, because they actually got two in today. (The other one was spoken for as well.)
They don't seem to be jumping into the amps too quickly. All I've ever seen is the Mini that sold a couple of weeks ago. When I was in there tonight I mentioned that they would probably start getting lots more requests for Dr. Z stuff.
