I'm curious, with the change from a Presence control to a Master Volume for Channel 2, why aren't the three volume knobs grouped together on the left, and the two tone knobs grouped together on the right? I suppose it doesn't really matter, but apparently the organized part of my brain (as small as that part may be) wants those volume controls next to each other! ;D

i am really chomping at the bit to try one of these, in fact i would trade my 2 month old mazerati gt for even an older model galaxe and 150$ to have the master mod put on ( as much as i love the mazerati gt),, if you buy one new, you have to request it built with the master mod,, humbucker has combos still in the box from 2007 for 1549 i think, but you would have to send it back to z for the upgrade,,, maybe when the new monster head and cab comes out some more will pop up for sale,, i like 6L6 tubes,, and the two channel thing,,

I just got a 2007 model - brand new - from Humbucker. I've had it for less than a week at this point, but I would not "trade in" the Presence control. I got it with the Brake Lite installed. I suppose a MV would come in handy, but so far, I'm not missing it.

You could set the Brake Lite based on Channel 2 volume, then roll up Channel 1 till it matches the output of Channel 2. Might just do the trick!

Simple economics would be the answer - an answer. The original design has the knobs left to right, Presence, Bass, Treble, Volume 1, Volume 2. Recall that the new Master Volume knob takes the place of the Presence knob. Everything is wired point-to-point. What you want would require rewiring two or three knobs and maybe a new face plate. Simple is good.
