wondering if anybody has tried this? If so, please describe the differences in tone. Not as much sag at higher volume, tighter, etc? thanks!

Well, I never put one in the EZG, but I have used them before, mainly in amps that were not clean enough, or have enough head room. And the EZG is the last amp that fit's that description. Do you find the EZG to not be clean enough? or lacking head room It's an easy experiment, it won't hurt anything to try it if that's the case. Good luck !

did it!!!!! i like it for lots of applications. I even have it in right now. my ezg50 it´s biased hot. With the gz34 it hits the sweet spot much sooner, than when i got it. The ss rectifier, cleans it up a bit and puts things tighter... and has that much quicker, percussive feel. When i want a more organic or softer feel, back goes the tube. It´s a nice thing to try and as frankie said, won´t hurt anything.... but you should watch tubes in case they start red plating or something...
