Hello, I have a new 6545. On the 45 side I hear what I would describe as a "fuzz" sound when a single note is played. Lets cover the basics first. Known good instrument cable, speaker cable, speaker cabinet, and guitar. The sound is most noticeable on low volumes on the 5th and 6th strings. I can turn the bass all the way up or down, and that doesn't seem to affect it. Since it is a FUZZ type of noise I am hearing, when I turn up the treble, it is more noticeable. Again, low volume, bass at 9:00 treble at 10:00. Thanks for your input.

My guess is a bad EF86 on your 45 side. Turning up the treble would accentuate the problem. If you can afford it a NOS EF86 is worth it for reliability alone. www.kcanostubes.comTry replacing it and see how you go. Good to have a spare anyway.
