No one was home this morning, thank heavens, so I shot this video of me playing around with my 52 ri. Stuck right in the blues box in the key of A, it was fun nonetheless. This is my 82 52 ri, maz jr and the effects are sparkle drive and eh lpb-1. Simple I guess. Comments welcome good or bad...bad hair day so I threw the hat on too...lol!

Hey Mark. I missed this first time around. Sounds good, but ya know, I think I actually hear a difference compared with some of your more recent posts with the Xotic gear. The latter seems to give a bit more definition to your fine playing.

Great tone, Mark! Had me borrowing my kid's CV50s tele and all . The Maz18 really makes those single coils shine, doesn't it?

Either way...sounds great...even on a bad hair day!...lol....

thanks Mike, Mark....yeah that video was done some time ago..one of the first ones I did. I recorded it with my laptop's camera and Zoom H2. The Zoom got the audio for the recording and I just dubbed the audio track back over it. In that I used a Sparkle Drive (I think) and a EH LPB booster. I have neither of those now. The Xotics are just so much more toneful in my opinion. I tried my best to do some blues although I am not a blues picker by any means. It's fun to listen to what that tone was then compared to what I have now...kinda neat! Thanks for asking about it and the kind words

This video makes me regret selling my '52 reissue a a couple moths ago...
Oh well, the '94 Pink Paisley I just got fills in the hole that the '52 RI left when it shipped off.

Just for the record Mark, I loved your other videos too, but the volume difference between your golden voice, and the Maz was too great. I wanted to hear you speaking more. That is why this video of yours is my favorite. (I also do love your blues playing...) I have my eye out for you next one...

Hey Mark - I remember the post a while back about looking for that new career. You have a great ad voice. No kiddin aside, you should look into it.
And of course the blues playin sounds great man. What are you using for the backing track?

thanks Danny...around these parts there is no money to be made at radio or tv stuff...I am doing some of that now just voicing ads as a side project that gets me an extra hundred or two a month.... Some friends of mine do ok with a great morning show but they had to make some major moves and they are trained professionals...I am not, I kinda picked it up on my own....I just wing it so to speak.
The backing track I used....hmmmmm I should see if I can find it...if I do I will post a link
