I have a GB that's been sitting around the house for a while now and I've been thinking of getting a 1x12 cab for smaller quieter gigs.
The speaker should survive if I don't crank the amp or use an attenuator, right?

Laroosco,
I have my Z28 going thru a Avatar Cube loaded with a Greenback and to date, no issues. Sounds absolutely great. Since the Greenback is not the worlds most efficient speaker, you can crank the amp a bit more without getting a ear bleed. You can get to that beautiful world where the amp drives the speaker into the classic Greenback speaker break-up sound and with a small twist of the volume knob, you can go right back to clean.
The Z28 is currently my favorite Z amp, but the RXES is right on it's heels ;D.

I did blow a greeback, but I believe it was my fault. It's a very good sound for lower efficiency needs.

I just got my Z-28 head and 1X12 cab. The cab has a Celestion G12H 30 watt speaker in it. So far I like it a lot.
