I have had the Mazerati for about a month or 2 now and since I've got it, its pretty much replaced my Stangray entirely as my gigging amp. I have still been taking my ZVerb to every gig with it. I've always had a reverb on my amps and am used to having it there. A couple of times I gigged with the Ray without my ZVerb and didn't really like it. I always thought the ray sounded better with the ZVerb. Last night I played a special St Pattys day party at a club from 7pm to 11pm and I wanted minimal equipment as I had to get out of there quick to get home to bed as I work the next day. So I didn't take my ZVerb. I could not believe how great the Mazerati sounded without it. I did not miss it at all. I don't know if it was the room or what but the Mazerati just sounded so rich minus reverb. I'll probably take the ZVerb most of the time but its nice to know its not really needed

I don't use verb with mine and don't plan on it. It has a warmth that makes up for the lack of reverb. I was never a fan of reverb to begin with, when I roll out the country licks I use a slap back delay for effect. That's cool you liked it without. I didn't truly grasp the sound of her until I played with a band for the first time. It was like a warm towel out of the dryer very satisfying.
