Pulled the 5751 inverter and put a 12AX7 in for some more gain, and added an Ibanez AD9 reissue analog delay in behind the RC & AC Boosters. The result is a bit more drive at usable volumes, and seeing as the 28 lacks reverb the analog delay provides a super quiet (no hiss), fairly transparent delay. Just a bit for a quick slapback. Very nice enhancements to an already awesome amp

I guess this is a stupid question but was it necessary to re-bias the amp after you replaced the 5751 ?

No re-biasing necessary with pre amp tubes. I'm getting ready to put the 5751 back in (this post goes back to June 21), as Myles says it's always interesting to "color" your personal amp by trying out various tubes.

I'm back to the 5751 myself got one with balanced triodes (not that I can hear the difference, but I trust Myles!) I did sub a HBE Dos Mas for my RC Boost, so we're not as "exact Match" as we were there buddy!
The DOs is like 2 RC's in one box without the EQ, but I really like it.
