Hopefully someone with a Monza can answer this question. Are you able to turn the drive way up and use the volume knob as a master volume? I'm considering this amp for playing in my home but I'm unable to find any information regarding using the drive and volume knobs in this manner.
Thanks.

I don't think it will do this. If you crank the drive, you'll probably have massive volume before you get to 9 (o'clock) on the volume knob. The volume-drive on the Monza are not like the volume-master volume on the MAZ.
I have the Monza volume at 9:30, the drive just a touch higher (I move it around, however) and the tone at about 10. With the Brake Lite on 3 (4 being most attenuated setting; 0 no attenuation) it is loud, probably loud enough for a small gig.

The drive knob on the monza has more control over the saturation and the thickness of the overall tone. From what I have noticed it will dial in a thicker tone if you want. For instance, if you want to run a strat through it and get a thick drive sound turn up the drive. I like the drive a little lower on the les paul. It doesn't really effect the overall gain level as much as the feel of the amp.
Hope that helps.

Hey, I am going to get a Monza too, but I should add that the SRZ-65 does a surprisingly good low volume sound with the Gain above 2:00 and the Master anywhere between almost off to about 9:00. Of course, the louder it goes, the better.
However, I am on the Monza boat to, so to speak. The Monza with a Brake Lite is a very reasonable indoor/home amp, at least on 2 clicks.
