So how is the speaker/brake lite hooked up in the combos? Is there a 1/4" phone plug connection on the chassis? What about different impedances? Is there a selector?

So how is the speaker/brake lite hooked up in the combos? Is there a 1/4" phone plug connection on the chassis? What about different impedances? Is there a selector? The chassis has taps for 4 and 8 ohms. The brake lite has a 1/4 plug that goes into the back of the chassis and a 1/4 jack where the speaker is plugged in. It impedance is "self-adjusting", if you will. Here is a quick shot of the back of a Monza head: lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/humbucker/drzmonzarear.jpg

Thanks for the info. I would like to have seen a 16ohm output. For that matter a parallel output with an impedance selector would have been nice. Oh well!
I don't generally use combos, but I might make an exception in this case. I can always use it as a head without having to carry around too much extra bulk.

The nice folks at Humbucker called to tell me the Monza I wanted was in and confirm that they should ship it. They had to ask? ;D 1x10 Monza with S&P grill and BL. Hey man, post some pics for us when she arrives, yes? I have another 4 weeks to wait before the UK sees any, and I need a fix ;D Cheers Pete Looks like telepickinman took care of the pix. Mine looks just like the one in the middle. Pete, I think you play an EC Strat, yes? I just spent a couple hours with mine plugged straight in. You must try out this amp with that guitar.

If you can't take it with you then, I predict you'll keep thinking about it until you can make it happen. Look forward to hearing how the UK folks react to Monza.

To save Phil the embarrassment of being hauled into his local magistrates chambers, I volunteer to drive down and pick up one or two of his offending Z count (along with any spare Groshes he might have) and keep them safely for him. Am I a good Z-natic or what? ;D

BTW - I just got my call from Matt First at 3rd Street Music in Marietta, Ohio - my BLOND 1x10 Airbrake equipped Monza came in today and they will be shipping it out this afternoon - I should have it early next week ;D ;D Thanks Matt!!!
This is a banner day today - I picked up my '44 Martin 00018 (it was at Guitar Hospital for the last 4 months getting repaired), my tool shop called and the part I was waiting on my jointer arrived today, and while I was picking up my guitar I spoke to one of the guys there and he agreed to help me make the jigs and fixtures necessary for building guitars there at the shop (for considerably less than it would have cost to buy them)>
I'm off to play the lottery ;D ;D
