My Brake Lite has arrived! My Maz 18 is at my bass players house so I will have to wait until Friday to try it out. I have tried it on my Marshall JTM30 combo and OMG – this amp has never sounded like this. Being able to get all of those tubes percolating but at a reasonable volume is unbelievable. Can’t wait to try the Brake Lite on my Maz. My installation questions:
1. Silly but …………. I am assuming that if you plan to use the screws, and I do, that you pull the two sided tape off for a flush fit. Correct?
2. The screws that came with the unit would go through the cabinet on the JTM30 and come out the other side – ouch! Has anyone had this issue on a Maz Jr.? I don’t have mine here to measure the dimensions and think I might need to make a hardware stop before making the hour drive to rehearse.

Pulled the peel off and used the stickum to hold it in place while I ran the screws into the side of my Maz Jr. They did not come through the other side. But if I were you, I'd use a ruler on the screws. I can't say what you have there, but mine were fine.

I installed the Brake Lite in My Maz Jr 2X12 last night and let me just say that I was not thinking how tight it would be to get the BL into the cabinet. It is almost touching the speaker but seems to be right at home in there. I sure hope the speaker can’t flex enough to touch it – I doubt it. I can get just the right sound for the volumes we play at. The 3 setting provided too much grit and I have to say I never thought I would be able to get too much natural tube distortion but with the BL you sure can. Set on 2 is perfect at our volume – full sweet tone. Now I need to save my pennies to but another one for my JTM30 here at home.

I find setting 2 to be the best setting for cranking and playing at band volumes.
