This was all on Airbrake Bedroom:
With a humbucker and an openback w/greenback...I had the bass on noon, with the high volume on 1:30...low volume on noon. It sounded fine. Perhaps the low end was just a little muddy.
So I turned the bass down to about 10:00, but turned the low volume up to 1:30-2:00.
Now there is slightly less overall bass, but there's more clairity. I didn't think I'd ever use the bass down at 10:00 with an openback...but I like what I hear.
It sort of reminded me of the low end of a Stangray...not in tone, but in tight feel.
We'll see what happens at stage volume.

Interesting. I play my Remedy with a Z-Best which has a very nice but very strong bass response. I never set my bass control above about 10:30, and the Low-Volume control drives the low end too. Just shows how much difference cabinets make regarding EQ. Good luck with your findings.

Yeah John... I do something similar. My Bass setting with open back 12" Gold or 4x12 half stack is about 9:00. Without the Brakelite, I turn up the High and back off on the Low a bit. I'm running at 1/2 power most of time. But yeah, the two volumes really help dial it in.
