I just ordered one and wanted to run some tungsol 5881's in it, but they are only rated to 400 volts. Has anyone measured the PV of their EZG-50? ??

I measured 425 volts for anyone interested. I put some new 6L6's in it but the bias would only go up to 40ma, about 60% or 38 watts. Im going to look at changing the bias pot or resistors to get around 70% or 42 watts idle or so, that i think would be optimal.

It might be worth emailing one of the major tube suppliers, at 425v and with a tube rectifier the 5881's may be fine.
I'm currently considering the EZG50, and wondering if I could install my favorite Jan Phillips 6L6WGB's. In my experience they sound better than Tungsols, and I've been told they should last 5 times as long.

I just measured mine with a Compubias at: Vp = 443V Ik ( Cathode Current) at 27 and watts output per tube of 11.9 .. This is very low and no wonder the amp although very loud does not overdrive.. The tubes are GT 6L6 GE 's and I will change them for GC's and rebias.. Where is the Bias pot ? and does anyone have a circuit diagram ( Schematic ?)
