well, i just bought a GT. it probably wont get to me until monday though i tell you guys i have had awful luck buying here lately, everytime i go to buy something they have just sold it to someone else a few minutes before i called. this has happened like 4 times in a month or so. i bought a handpainted fuzz pedal last week, they had just sold the one i wanted and i didnt see the email response (i had already paid for it) until 2nd days later, so my second choice was sold too. i had to settle for a 3rd choice and then i go to buy an EZG-50 today and would you know it, sold this morning. so i found and bought a GT instead, who needs fendery/reverby cleans anyways?!!! even though i do think an EZG w/ the GT would sure sound sweet...

Man you are going to really dig that GT. I have owned: a Rt66 (my 1st Z), Maz 18 2/12 combo, Galaxie, Ghia and GT. My favorite was the GT! I only had it about 2 months when a financial kick in the groin made me sell quickly BUT, It was the most fun I had on any Z. I used it with a Alessandro Muzzle (just one click) into a 2/12 open back with Blues and a 2/12 closed back with G12H-30's. Freaken fun.... fun.... fun! Volume about 2 o'clock and tone about noon and I couldn't keep the silly arse grin off my face. Enjoy.......... and remember; if it ain't loud it ain't rock n roll. Merks

Congrats, man! That thing is a very cool amp. It doesn't "crunch" so much, but it is quite hot. It has a real nice distinct OD/Distortion. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite out of the GT, SRZ, and Delta 88. They're all different, but they all ROCK!
Do you have an attenuator of some sort yet? You're going to need one if you have family in the house or neighbors close by... She's quite loud. ;D

so i have quite a conundrum as of late about whether to pick up myself a GT or a Remedy, or a 66.....I am leaning towards the GT for my crunchy tones and lead work, but the remedy also has me thinking as well as i love that plexi crunch tone. damn this is hard. can anyone tell me the differences from the GT and remedy?

well, i'm going off what i know about the GT and Marshall plexis and also what i've heard about the Remedy.
i think the Remedy would be much fuller sounding (lows and low-mids) and warmer. i imagine that they would both be able to get about the same amount of overdrive/distortion. while i would say the Remedy would have more sag or warmth, the use of a solid-state rectifier probably keeps it fairly tight. the GT feels tight to me, but you can change the rectifier out for something else. i believe i remember hearing you cannot change the rectifier on the Remedy due to the half-power option.
i wish i had the opportunity to play a Remedy, but they sell too quickly at my local shop.

Awesome what do think of the GT? It's a kickin amp and you can try different rec, V1 and V2 tubes to soften it up. You're correct the Remedy has a hardwired solid state rectifier.

hey drew, i like it alot... with humbuckers. i'm not a fan of the GT w/ single coils, though i want to get some higher output singles and try them out on it. thinking high-output Lindy Fralin Split-blades.
i really like the amp. its intense. insanely loud, articulate. there's definitely something going on in the mids that makes it sound unique at least compared to my other amps.
anyways, i've been thinking about putting my NOS 5V4 into the GT to soften it up. i would also like to try a 5751 in V1. i'll let everyone know if i like it, but as all things i do it will probably be awhile before i get around to it.
