"Tight" is such a subjective term. When I think tight low end, I tend to think more Marshall sounding amps. Not that the EZG-50 doesn't have an abundance of low end (I keep my low EQ control at about 10:00) but I would say the low end is fairly punchy, but maybe not as "tight" as say a Marshall JCM 800 or Germino JTM 45. To me it is still "tighter" than a Fender Super Reverb or a Bassman, which to my ears are a bit more compressed or spongy sounding. Hope that helps...

..the bottom end of the EZG is very organic and alive, and like MTL said it is punchy and there is plenty of it on tap,...but depending on your cab, your signal path, dynamics ect. ect. ect. not to mention the room will all determine how the lower freq. will respond. However if your worried that the EZG gets sloppy in the low end, just go ahead and rest your mind,...the amp never gets too loose... overall Id say you cant go wrong with a great clean signal to start with, you can add dirt to flavor after.....
