Hey guys, I need advice on how to mount a BL in my 210 ext cab (Z). My dilemna is that if I put it on the right hand side (looking at the cab's back) it is tough to get in to reach the screws that I would need to mount it in place. But it has to be in that spot in order for the BL chord to reach my Ghia head when it's sitting ontop (ie, I can't put the BL on the bottom of the cab.) Then there's the issue of the cab's input jack. Is there an easy way to affix the BL so that it is hooked to the cab's input jack so that I could just plut directly into it from the amp? Any advice/help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm not very handy (especially when it comes to electric stuff) so I'd rather avoid any type of soldering etc. Thanks-- Uncle Eb

What you do is going to depend on whether you intend to remove the BL all the time or if you want a permanent install. It sounds like you're wishing for a permanent install. This is what I would do.
Pull the speaker and mount the BL wherever you please. This entails unsoldering something - I suggest you unsolder from the input jack.
Get some speaker wire from the hardware store or Git-tar Sinner and solder that to the jack, then put the other end either to a 1/4" jack (to match the plug on the BL) or solder it into the BL where the existing wires go.
Then get a 1/4" plug and solder THAT onto the wires that are connected to your speaker so that you can plug it into the bottom of the BL to complete the circuit.
DANG that sounds like a lot of steps, but it's really not all that complicated. If you think you'll ever want to take the BL out though, this method introduces a lot of tradeoffs.
Hope that helps a little....

Thanks Steve. I ended up doing a more simplified way to avoid soldering. I mounted the BL on the flooor of the ext cab and used a F-F 1/4 adapter and a cable to hook up an input on the lower right side of the back panel (velcro-ed in place). Then used a short cable from the BL up to the cab's original input jack. With a right angle cable, I will just leave that one in all the time. So hooking it up is now just the simple procedure of hooking up the amp head to the new improvised jack. I'll upload a photo when I have a chance. For my limited tech abilities, I think it came out pretty well. And I used it last night and it worked great. Note: I used the Planet Wave custom cable kit which works great for stuff like this.
