I was just thinking over some coffee what the pros and cons would be of getting a Ghia cabinet and mount the Zverb chassis in the combo cabinet. It seems that the Zverb would be used with any head combination so having the Zverb mounted in the speaker cabinet would lessen the number of boxes by one.
Any comments on the pros/cons of have the Zverb in a speaker cabinet?
Cheers, Steve Z

Yeah I'd love it if I could mount my Zverb chassis in my Dr Z open back. It does have a bit of a cool factor on stage to have the open back amp head and zverb all visible but its a pain having all those pieces to cart in. And I was a little shy on room at last weekends gig. I now carry my Victoria amp to all the gigs as well as I use it for slide guitar so I take up quite a bit of real estate on stage. I don't know if there would be room in the open back. I'm not sure how much speaker vibration would effect the tubes as well. Not to mention the modification it would take on my open back. I guess it would be a good idea to load the chassis and speakers in to a ghia combo cabinet. A couple of times I've been tempted to get rid of the zverb and get reverb pedal for my board but I just can't bring my self to do it.

Other than it pretty much limits your use of the Z-verb to the same speaker and cab all of the time, it sounds like an interesting concept. Fender put reverb tanks and tubes next to the speakers for years without any adverse impact so I assume it would work fine. Cool idea.

Seems like stacking a head on top of that would be fine, as far as hum. I have my Ghia on top of my Z -Verb with no noise. Both of those are on top of my 1x12 cab, and I've never had vibration problems with the reverb tank. If you do it, make sure to let us see some pics, and let us know how it works out!

Im doing about the same thing. Mounting a z-verb into a speaker cab. Its about done. Will look like a nice lil combo amp.
Making the cab wide enough for bassman, deep enough for a mesa, and awesome enough for a z.
It's a 12" Tone Tubby Alnico, pine wood and open back.
Haven't decided on tolex yet.. maybe just finish the wood.
