They're back by popular demand and they're great.

Well astronome, I can't seem to sell mine right now. . . This economy sucks. But if you get rid of that Fuchs, shoot me a PM, I'll probably still have it.

Gettin rid of it because I just bought a Route 66. I don't necessarily like the Route more (both amazing and unique in there own ways), but it fits in the band setting better. It's really tough for me to get rid of the KT. It's my second one, and I really feel like it's THE AMP that compliments my playing better than anything I've ever plugged into. But hey, I'll have another one again someday ;D I really do think the KT is Dr. Z''s most underrated amp. It is a work of art.

so in your opinion does the route 66 have a significant amount of headroom compared to the KT? Ive been listening to that Jazz clip of the 66 on the homepage and that tone really excites me man. I was just wondering is it possible to get that tone at higher volumes? I only ask because i love the sound of kt66 tubes a lot. But i still want a KT45 of course. also which has the tighter lowend as in grand piano type clang to it?

I don't think the 66 has anywhere near the headroom the KT has. I love that jazz clip too. The 66 definitely has headroom and can get that jazz tone at club levels, but it just doesn't have the headroom the KT has. I think the only other amp that can rival the KT in headroom (at louder volumes) is the EZG. That's a totally different beast though. To answer your bass question. The KT's bottom end is, IMO, very piano like. Its sound is clear and tight. I would never say the KT's low end gets boomy at all. Just very responsive and fast. . . 3D'ish (for lack of a better term). The 66's low end is much more smokey. It kind of spreads like butter and fills in all the gaps. Much looser than the KT. The tube rec. has a lot to do with that. It's a pretty tough transition going from the KT to the 66 for all of these reasons. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

Really good accurate IMHO comparison. I had both once at the same time too. I do have the GZ34 tube rect. in my KT, yet the KT this way is still not smokey like the 66. Anyway, hope you don't need to sell it after all. I parted with a 2004 once before. Got a 2003 a short while later after many hard kicks in the arse.

I hear ya. I really wish I didn't have to get rid of it either. It's my second KT!!!. . . I hope third times a charm I really wouldn't sell it unless I absolutely had to. It is definitely the only amp I miss a lot after it's gone. It just leaves that sound in your head thats hard to play without. I just gotta suck it up though until I have the money to keep have both. . . And it's not like I'm stuck with nothin. The 66 ain't no slouch. ;D ;D
