...because I scored one from zimmer!!! Woo Hoo! ;D Thanks guys for all your help, I'll be trying out some of your favorite settings about a week from today when she arrives. Until I find a deal on a matching cab, I'll be testing it with my 4x12 Marshall cab loaded with 25 watt greenies. As zimmer pointed out it in his email to me, "...the 4 x 12 should be rich, and possibly deafening." So I'll give it a shot with the cab set to stereo and run the Gal through two speakers. Of course an Air Brake might be in my future also. Thanks again zimmer, all treat her right, BB

Bluer Blue Congratulation. Work those tone knobs on that amp. Their's a lot of sounds coming out of that box. You can save a little bit of money by picking up a break-lite. Cheers, Richard

Thanks guys, its been about a year of lust, decisions (which one? that one... no THAT one... but, but that one is awesome too!) and shopping. This will be a great fix for my blues addiction!
Thanks for the tip Richard, that would save a few bucks. So from what I can tell the Brake Lite, omits the bedroom setting and the heavy duty case? I certainly don't need the bedroom setting.

HUGE. ;D Ha Haaa, thanks for the addiction warning T-Rock! Definitely going to find a cab for her. Currently leaning towards the Doc's 2x10, but I prefer the vertical form factor of the Z-Best. Mojo makes a vertical 2x10 that would be a good fit size wise, but then finding 2, 10" Z speakers and a Z logo might be a challenge. From what I can tell reading the threads, the Z-Best is a fuller, bassier sound with maybe a little earlier speaker break-up, while the 10s are a little more articulate with plenty of bass and creamier mid tones. Tough problems to have!

Well my Gal showed up today from zimmer today and I just spent about 15 minutes on her and,
well...
"HOLY CRAP!!!!!!" LOLOLOL
What a sweet beast!
Early observations are... the touch sensitvity/dynamics are not found to this degree in my other amps, every nuance is there, incredible! Loud +, but still manageable. Much easier to dial in tone than my Lone Star and the tone stack is way more responsive with broad sweeps, unlike the vintage modern. Like both channels, like pentode and triode. The voicing is addictive.
I've only tried it with my homemade gilmour knock-off strat with fat 50s and a duncan SSL-5 in the bridge. The SSL-5 has NEVER sounded so shweeet. Humbuckers next in a Les Paul and 57s in a 335. This is more fun than I have a right to. =>
Freakin' awesome!
No wonder you guys have more than one Z. Good bye bank account!

Hey, glad you got it.
Funny though, I used my strat with the Fat 50s, with the Galaxie all the time. In fact, it was probably the best of all the amps at making the bridge pickup sound great.
I miss it, but I'm happy for you.

Galaxie/Zbest, w/greenbacks Shmokes man.....juss' sayin', eh??.... ;D Yep! I've had the pleasure of playing Tony's Galaxie through those greenies. IMO is was the best sounding rig in Tony's arsonal. I've owned the 2x10 and 1x12 Galaxie combo. I preferred the 2x10 combo loaded with Dr Z 10's. The Dr Z 10's and Galaxie are an excellent pairing. The Dr Z 4x10 cab with the Galaxie was a treat but I never got to gig that set up. Congrats on a great amp. Those tone control are packed with a lot of different tone have fun experimenting.
