Best place is from any authorized Z dealer, which can be found Here. Best price can be found Here.Dr. Z doesn't allow discounting - the price in his price sheet is the price. You should consider a Brake Lite though - a great solution for a better price.

Yeah, what Steve said. The price is the price and it's worth every penny and yes, you can use it with any amp, as long as you're under the wattage limit. I have 3 Z's and I run them all through a Brake-Lite on 2 clicks. I can't live without it.

never had an airbrake, but i love my Brake Lite. Highly recommended at half the cost of the original.

I would get the brakelite and mount in your combo and be done with it. It is nice having the AB to use on whatever I need but I don't run combos.

I rushed my kid off to school today so I could get back before work and honk on my big arse old Marshall head into a teensy 1X12 with the Airbrake on 3 keeping a lid on things. It's a wonderful piece. I just don't hear any differences.. that's what makes it such a fine piece of gear. Yesterday it was my Z28 head and the Airbrake on 2.

Seems fairly transperant up until the 2nd click or so.

Are the positions on the Airbrake and Brake-Lite roughly equivalent to each other in terms of attenuation levels?

Are the positions on the Airbrake and Brake-Lite roughly equivalent to each other in terms of attenuation levels? Click the cab specs link in my signature - I have all those details captured there. Keep in mind though that you can open up the Airbrake and adjust it a bit.
