I just picked up licks from learning and listening to his music. You know how it is, if you study a guitarist long enough you can figure out their style of phrasing and the little nuances of their playing. It's the same as when guys can play stuff that sounds a lot like Hendrix, Clapton, or SRV. Of course you know this, you are way better than me! EJ just uses major and minor pentatonics with 2nds and 6ths (and 9th's and 13th's). He just uses such unique phrasing that at times it doesn't even sound like pentatonic scales because he isn't doing anything bluesy. EDIT: oh btw, I have his videos too. I didn't learn any specific licks but I watch them all the time. I really learned a lot about his approach to playing. The clean playing and chord theory is the most difficult aspect of his playing I think. alex

Hey Alex, nice playing! I've been working on this tune last 4 weeks, been pickin it, you got that alt picking thing going on there, awesome, given me some ideas. That first bend on cliffs of dover had me deck my bridge with 5 springs, was getting quite daunting with 11s on standard tuning, looked like I had parkinsons chasing the rise, some involuntary vibrato, sorted now, trem arm retired for a while.
