any body have a good overdrive recomendation for the RXES? i've had mine(RXES) for about 8 months now and have gigged with it less then 10 times(don't play out as much as of late). i have a timmy on the way but wanted to know what overdrive pedals you like with your amp and why.
i'm loving this amp also. it's currently the only one i have. i just love how i can have the volume half way up with the overdose on and still be able to play clean if i gently brush the strings. and when i want overdrive i just pummel the strings with my pick!
it also has a great clean sound. i love its bell like tone and clarity. i do wish it had more clean head room but i still love this amp. i've almost sold it before thinking i didn't want it but i'd always end my auction on ebay. but now i've grown to love this baby and it's a great amp to have if you can only have one.
i've also add all nos tubes which makes it sound more full. i have two mullard and two amperex el84's. a mullard rectifier. an amperex bb in v1, a dario miniwatt in v2, and a tsungram in v3. i love this amp!
i've been playing it through two 2x12 cabs, the first being a harry joyce with 100 watt scholz speakers, and the second being an orange 2x12 with heritage celestin 30 watters. the hi-fi sound of the scholz's paired with the low bass resonance and early break up of the celestion is an awesome combo! i have such a full sound that it's amazing. i can't go back to just playing through one cab because both cabs sound better when they're being played simultaneously.
i've sold a kt45, a germino lead 55, an old orange overdrive, a fender tonemaster, and a marshall jmp 50 watt(73'). not that any of those amps were bad or anything. i just thought the RXES fit my style more. i did like the headroom of the kt45 though. the only other amp that i really want is a harry joyce custom 50(should be out hopefully before christmas).
i sold all my old pedals and i currently have none. but i want to start my pedal board over again but i'd like to keep it small. all i'd need is a good delay and maybe two overdrives and a tuner.
sorry to go on a rant but i just love this amp! and i'm glad other people do also. i thought i was the only one that thought this amp was spectacular. and i got the head for $1000 used but in perfect condition! unlike other botique amps that sell for more then $3000 or something! Z's amps are the best for the money!

ps. i'm sure i won't get any replies but i just needed to shell out some RXES love.
i also want to know how the old RX sounds compred to the RXES.
