I bought, with hesitation, a brand new 2x12 RxES combo. I say with hesitation because I thought Marshall for dirty (JCM 800) and Fender for clean (65 Super Twin) were the only way to go. I won't get technical here, couldn't if I tried, I'll just say I've owned ALOT of amps over my 22 years of playing and this is BY FAR the best amp I have ever owned or heard. So simple to dial in the best sounds, and IMHO, the coolest looking amp I have ever owned as well. If anyone has any setting suggestions, or cool tricks the novice here may not be aware of, please share. I am picking up a mini Z too, I can't wait to start showing this off.

Hey, Sam from KC here. I was about to start a thread about my new one but I'll chime in here.
I went to Mass Street Music last Saturday to check out the new RxES head and cab that they had on their website. Well, as they say , the rest is history. Not only did I come home with the amp, but a beautiful new Tom Anderson Atom followed me home too! That did cost me a 4 hour shopping trip later in the day for the Mrs. to get " a few new clothes" ....Yea Baby, I'll drive!
I can't say enough about the great folks at Mass Street Music. Chris and the rest of the staff are a real class act and just as down to earth as they could be. It doesn't matter your level of playing ability there...they treat everyone as if they were a STAR!
And, a big thanks to the good Dr for putting out such a cool product!
Cheers from KC

Hi everybody, I'm new to the Z-Talk forum. I just wanted to chime in here and say congrats on the purchase of your new RXES amps. It's a monster tone machine, and destined to be one of the all-time classics. I've been gigging for about six months with the RXES head and matching Z-BEST cabinet, which I purchased at Peeler Music in Toledo. The sound of the amp is more consistent from room to room than any other I've owned. However, this might be due in part to the Auralex Gramma Iso Pad I've been using under the Z-Best. Also, if anyone is interested, there are two demo's at my band's website on which I used the Z. Here's where to go: lowlifesocialites.tripod.comClick on the "Frontburner" logo at the left side of your screen to access those demos. "Rock Island Rocket" has a guitar lead at the end which is a Strat and a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 into the Z. "Tune 88" has a short clean lead near the end which is a Strat straight into the Z. Thanks for putting a great forum together!

SSB: yes, nice tone & playing. I used to have the LA Express "Tom Cat?" album years ago w/ Robben Ford. Great material, challenging to cover I'm sure.

Here is a pic of the head and cab I got from the MSM website. TOO KEWL! That is a gorgeous rig. I may be a touch better looking than even Zac Childs' RxES.
