Hi folks, I have been plugging my mini head into my Engl 1x12 closed back cab that's loaded with Celestion C30 (60watt)... The bass seems to be quite flabby and buzzy. I plugged the head into my Maz38's speakers and it sounds a lot better. I wonder if a speaker swap would fix in the cab? . Any recommendations?

I'm playing my Mini Z through a 1 x 12" Bogner, Duende/Metropolis cabinet that's loaded with a Celestion G12H. My plan is to replace the G12H with a Celestion, Blue! Sprinter 92
Like chicken on butter!
That saying is really making a lot of us very uncomfortable. And isn't it supposed to be butter on chicken? Eddie

The thing is I really like the cab...It's got a protective front metal grill and it's a solid piece of kit but my mini doesn't seem to like it. The cab is closed back. Should I go for a speaker swap instead of replacing the whole cab. Maybe throw a Weber 1225 in there?

Can you take the back off, or have you tried that? Some speakers like open, some closed. I have a V30 in a closed back and an open back with a Blue. My Mini Z head will be here tomorrow, so I'll be hearing it with the Blue and the V30.
Well, the Mini is good with the Blue, not so good with the V30 16ohm. Could be the wattage of the V30, or the impedence mismatch. Either way, the Ghia works well with either, Blue is awesome, just right. Ghia still sounds like the Ghia thru the V30, a little more spikey. I would not recommend a 16ohm V30 with the Mini. Put a blanket over your cab and you have the same muffled results.
