What speakers/cab arrangement would give me alittle earlier breakup? and is it true that the solid state rectifier gives more volume?

A tube rectifier will lower the amps overall wattage, quite how much volume that would knock off I'm not sure. The KT is a loud amp at the best of times! ;D
Ask Ted Weber about the speaker issue, he's the best in the business!

For earlier breakup avoid the SS rectifier. Ask Myles Rose or a NOS tube dealer about a substitute rectifier tube for earlier breakup. Weber has a speaker called the Texas that can handle the wattage and is supposed to have a fairly early breakup. I don't know what it sounds like except to say that it has a fuller sounding high end than the Weber ceramic Blue dog (which has a sort of detailed high end).
