so i packed up my jr to take it with me to a gig, but decided against it and put it back in it's room. the next time i played it i forgot to plug it all back in (speaker cable) realized my mistake after a pluck of a string or two and shut it off really quick, plugged it back in and fired it up again to make sure it was ok.. there was no ploom of smoke or anything and everything smelled ok and the amp performed fine.. well i didn't get to play it for a few weeks after that and i fired it up today and got a poppy fizzy sound when i switched it off of standby.. it seemed to perform ok after that, but the sounds really concern me. has anyone had a similar experience? i think everything is ok, the tubes seem fine and everything still smelled ok from what i could tell..
should i be worried?

If it ain't broke... If it seems to be working alright and you can put it through it's paces I wouldn't worry and try not to do that again.

was it because your guitar was giving some type of signal to the amp? Mine makes some type of sound if everything is not turned off or the strings are moving slightly as I turn of the stand by.

I've turned it on without a speaker cable attached, and, like you said, I freaked out. The popping and fizzing could be from an issue with tubes, or grounding, or like asattwanger said, your guitar was just transmitting a signal.
When I first got my RxJr (used), it popped and fizzed. But five months later and she's fine, actually sounds better and better every time I play. =)

that could very well be. the guitar was strapped on me at the time. my bumping it could have caused the strings to vibrate sending a signal to the amp.
thanks for the reassurance guys.
