damn You amazing Dr Z amps!!!! I couldn't fight it. I already own a Route 66. I just put in an order at truetone music for a Black EZG-50. Cant wait to get it. To bad they are built on order, and i have to wait 4 weeks. Tough decision to go black instead of red. But a blackface amp deserves a to be black now i just gotta get a nice Cab. I guess i could swap out the speaker in my port cit wave(G12H30) for something that can handle 50 watts. maybe a Weber Alnico blue dog or sliver bell. but that would give my EZG-50 a little British character. decisions, decisions....

Congrats on the new amp. I'm sure the EZG will make a great partner to your Rt66.

Thanks guys... i just got chewed for spending $1800 by my Girlfriend, Mother, Father...lol... i kept hearing 1800 is for professionals. Hahaha....i should have said im on my way... . theyll be happy when i spend a few hundred on a new cab or new speakers.... I cant decide on a speaker.....
Weber Blue Dog vs. Weber AlNiCo 12A150 vs. alnico chicago vs. silver bell.
I play a lot of blues....with my route 66 i go for hendrix clapton type stuff.... i bought th ezg-50 for a john mayerish two rock TYPE tone.
i have 1 cab...id like to use that cab for both amps...which speaker is best for this? am i better off getting another cab?

If you're looking for a Fenderish tone I recommend another cab. Ask Ted Weber what he makes that would be a good replacement for a blackface speaker. I'm almost certain he has at least one. Try an open (or oval) back pine cab. I had one built for me at a reasonable price by JDesigns. One of the nice things about JDesigns is he (Jeff) can build you a different baffle if you want to try another speaker configuration. He keeps your specs and he'll just send you a 2x10 or a 1/15 baffle that will fit your cab.
You could save a few bucks by getting one from Better Built Workshops (ask for the Fender style tolex). They can build any size/shape you want. Allen amps makes cabs that are appropriate for that sound as well.
Of course there's Z cabs. Quality stuff but I don't think Z makes a pine cab.
