hey guys im just curious how your mazerati compares to your Rx in headroom. i have an orignal Rx (2x12 with greenbacks) and its loud as hell and plenty clean for loud gigs. combined with my full drive that ive had for years i can get any sound i want. i just really need an excuse to get another Z specifically a mazerati ;D

Hi! I haven't even heard an Rx except in clips (mostly Benttop's great detailed clips) and on Brad Paisley CDs. But the Mazerati and the Rx seem to have a lot in common with their design and with their overall tonality, though the Rx clips show more liquid overdrive when cranked. If it were me, I'd be tempted to try something less similar as a complement to my Rx, like maybe a Route 66 or Z-28 or Galaxy.
Don't get me wrong: I love my Mazerati, it's probably my favorite amp. But you are already kind of in its tonal ballpark with the Rx.

I agree with Crikey. I've just traded my Mazerati head for a Route 66 head. I've had a orignal Rx (2x12 with greenbacks). Great amp, just did'nt want to carrie it around. When I sold it I got the Mazerati, but their is the Mazerati GT which you can get at Fat Sounds Guitars now. www.fatsoundguitars.com/store/index.html. Theirs the link. Their are some You Tube links to. Go for it. ;D
