So I played a big fest last week 2 tonkers in combo and was too clean , next gig did the 112 combo w/ Blue alnico 50 watt, silver 50 watt ceramic in cab below and it was crunch city ....not my tone, buzz saw . so I put a 5771 back in PI and the other was a 5771 as well ,took out the JJ rect and put in a SS rect and the amp{ combo with blue dog 50 watt } was killing yesterday and it was a outdoor gig to ! so maybe with my pickin style . I tend to pull the strings pretty hard I need the faster attack of the SS Rect. a lot less compression was going on yesterday.

I agree with the SS rectifier. It lets me at least think I can play faster. I find less of a mid hump, and more clarity. It has tamed that V30. I have been thinking about speaker options, but the beast is happy for now.

Dave,
So, you have the Maz 38, Ghia and a Mazarati now... Can I ask you about the mazarati? I've heard it's the bigger brother to the Ghia. Is this true? Does it have the same tone/bounce/ambience as the ghia only with more power?

IMO the 'rati is NOT a bigger Ghia, Doc say's it can be with a 5V4 rec but I did not try one, as is the 'rati is a loud clean SOB.

Paul Curt is right ,really a different beast. tighter sounding ,takes a lot to break up. a very cool combo is a tonker / weber blue 50 watt
