Evandael's comments in my other thread have got me wondering ... does anyone know where in the path the volume and overdose are?
The website says the following about the Rx: The EF-86 has an increased bandwidth and double the output gain of a typical 12AX7. The Overdose gain boost is connected to this stage, engaging this boost is likened to engaging the best OD pedal.
Does that mean that the OD is immediately after the EF86? It doesn't mean that it's immediately before the EF-86, does it?
Is the volume before the 1st 12AX7, or after it?

The EF86 is V2 (2nd preamp tube). i have always assumed that the OD kicks the EF86 gain up (perhaps from triode to pentode mode). I am guessing the volume control is controlling the gain of V1 (first preamp tube).

So that would mean that the volume is before the 1st 12AX7 and the OD is before the EF-86 (or in the tube, if it's triode to pentode), correct?

My thinking is that the volume control is controlling the gain of V1 and is this part of the V1 circuit. Likewise, I think the OD changes the gain of the EF86 and is therefore part of the tube's circuit.

Which I might add is a very cool aspect of this amp.
