When it's on, even if there is no guitar plugged into the input, it makes a wind-like sound. This has never happeed to me on any other amp. If the guitar is unplugged, unless the tubes are bad, it's very quiet, unly a very slight buzz in the background until turned up substantially. While the Mazerati has a fairly obvious whoosh-ing sound that also gets louder as it's turned up. Are my tubes bad or does the Mazerai run hotter than most amps? If it sounds like a tube problem, which tube would it likely be? Thanks for any help.

I think your amp is haunted! Probably a preamp tube.

My Mazerati makes plenty of odd sounds, but only when I play though it. But it's usually me who is responsible for the wind-like noises.
Okay, sorry - I had nothing to contribute to this thread. Everyone's a comedian. ;D

I feel your pain - I love mine to death, but on occasion, it sounds like a faint whistling is occurring the moment I turn it off of standby, even when I'm passing no signal through it...I always chalked it up to bad power issues.
