I've recently bought a low watt amp, a cornford carrera which is between 5-8 watts depending on tubes used/selected.
Atm i only play it in the flat. It sounds pretty good at low volumes but when i take it to my music teachers house and turn it up a bit more it sounds great.
Im looking for a solution to be able to turn it up from 10am master vol to 12noon + (it onlyhas a master)
I was looking into attenuators and came across this brake like which i could get low levels of attenuation and without loss of sound quality. I know the air brake has more features but im not sure which is better for my needs. The brake lite is much cheaper and less obtrusive as its internal.
Any advice welcome. Thanks

I use my brake lite with a champ (4-6 watts) and a musicmaster bass (12 watts) fairly often with great results. The resistance does not appear to discriminate against lower wattage. The original circuitry for the brake lite was used in the 5 watt Mini Z if I recall.

The Brake Lite is an excellent solution for the situation you describe. Very transparent, and plenty of attenuation. Highly recommended.
