Hi---I'm trying to determine if I want to attenuate my Mazerati so I can crank it to get good tube distortion at lower volumes.
Would it have more gain than a Maz Jr. or Carmen Ghia?
I've played those so I'll know how to compare it. Am I barking up the wrong tree since the Mazerati seems to excel at being clean?
Thanks in advance!

Don't have any experience with an attenuator, but I do get the chance to run my Mazerati flat out once in a while -- and I can say that there is definitely a good amount of distortion on tap toward the top of the volume dial. I was debating on getting an attenuator for smaller gigs, but I got a Ghia instead.. and it does just what I wanted. I'd say the Ghia has a bit more gain when cranked (although it really depends on your tube and speaker choices), but the Mazerati is punchier, louder, and less compressed. The Maz jr definitely has the most gain out of the three, but it's preamp distortion... apples and oranges.

jbro---thanks for taking the time and explaining your experience with me! 1+ for you...
A local music store has an airbrake on order so I'll get a call once it's in. I'm going to test drive my Mazerati setup with the airbrake. From that I'll be able to see if I want to go with the Jr. or not. I'll post my findings once I do that---keep checking back!
