Cross posted from the 6545 forum: OK, I’ve been thinking about this for a couple weeks, and I did it today. I traded my Mazerati for a 6545 head! It was a “slow-blow impulse” buy – saw a used 6545 advertised where I got my Mazerati and started thinking about it. Listened to clips, looked at what folks had to say, and decided that it was more in line with what I was trying to do. But I needed a play test first, so I went down this morning and played it. Not too much of the Vox vib on the 45 side, and I’ll miss that, but it DOES have its own vib which I found to be pretty cool. I’m used to using attenuators for a bit-o-hair so I’m quite sure I’ll be able to get this dialed up to the sound I have in my head. For the moment, I’m going to have to either use one of my THD cabs (prolly a 2x12 since the 4x12 weighs a TON) or my old Rivera 4x10 with Fender replacement speakers in it. Have to try all of that first. So – this negates all of the testing I’ve been doing for the last two months, and gives me reason to keep my head buried in the basement for a while longer. Got an RC Booster at the same time, so that’s another series of tests that I need to make. Yikes! So that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. ;D

It never ends, does it . I'm constantly thinking about what I can sell or trade to help pay for something else. Sometimes I fool myself into thinking that I actually have it all figured out . Seriously though, hope you like the 6545, seems like one helluva versitile beast. -Greg

But the Z amps offer a lot wider pallet of tones from which to choose. Nice!

Whew, I though I was just crazy. I'm always told "DON'T SELL THAT MAZERATI"!!! I just ditched an Analogman Beano Boost for a new LP case. I have come to the conclusion that, if there is any doubt about a piece of gear then it is not the thing to have, but nothing's perfect. So, the search never ends. I have thought that I would like more breakup than the Mazerati offers. Mini, Ghia, Airbrake, or a different set of el84's, or a new OD pedal?

Well I was looking for a bit more clean headroom than the 'rati offers. But I'm going to miss that tone - the Mazerati has it's own vib and it is a good one. My new KT-45 does too, but it's different. I'll come back to that vib eventually, but it has to wait just now - I'm broke!
