Ha! Replying to myself here... Well I think the love affair is over with the Weber ceramic Blue Dogs. The more they break in, the more chime goes away. It was beginning to really bug me - I even bought a pedal EQ and started pushing up the treble. So this morning I yanked them out and put the V30's back in there - it chimes again! Weird - never had a speaker lose highs as it broke in before, but there it is. I originally pulled the V30s not because they sounded bad, but because they produced more midrange than the Flexi and THD cab I was planning to A/B with. Well the strategy has changed. The Mazerati works great with my covers band without having to A/B, so that midrange hump isn't really going to bug me after all. So we're back to stock with the exception of the Beam Blockers. Gotta start completely over on my pedal board though - if no A/B'ing then there's at least one pedal on there I don't need! Now what am I going to do with $200 worth of speakers?

Don't feel bad benttop, I've gone though so many speakers I've lost count. The Vintage 30 is a personal favorite, if only Celestion could get the cone cry under control... I've been comfortably settled in with a Weber 50w alnico Blue dog for awhile now. Tried and didn't like the 30w ceramic Blue dog, nor did guitarman1, nor did tele62...we all bought and sold it to each other! Much brighter and thinner sounding than the 50w alnico. Usually the Webers will sell pretty quick on Ebay or TGP.
