Why doesn't the Rati have a 1/2 power switch?

I've been told that 1/2 power switches don't work properly and the amp's sound is compromised. Easier to get an Airbrake. Then you know you're getting all of the tone.

I read it here on authority that the transformer is bigger on higher powered amps, so they're not rated to suit less "powah-en-strenff".
billyguitar's got it right. What he said.

I don't know. Lots of amps have a half power switch. I have a Cage Corsa (4) EL84 that has a half power switch. It sounds great on 1/2 setting.
That would make for a very cool and giggable Mazerati, don't you think?

Isn't the 1/2 power switch called the "Carmen Ghia"?
