I have a Maz Sr. reverb & a Carmen Ghia. What would a Mazerati offer relative to these two amps?
In general terms, th Maz is a bigger, warmer and stiffer sounding amp, but lacks the clarity/breath of a Ghia. The Ghia has that greasy sag, open sound & early breakup, but doesn't have the big, low end of the Maz Sr.
Does the Mazerati have the best of both amps?

The Mazerati's sound would probably be right in the middle between those two. It has big bottom and earlier breakup than the Maz 38. The Mazerati I had was nice, but not versatile enough to be my main amp. My mazerati also had a ghost note undertone thing that didn't go away after I retubed it. I didn't fix it, just traded it in on my Maz 38.
