Hi guys,
I am a newbie here - Just traded my JCM800 for a Maz38nr head, I am going to give it a whirl through my Marshall 1960TV cab loaded with Greenback's...
Have any of you experienced Maz38 guys ever run one through one of these cab's??
What was your impression?
Peace Shane

I don't have a Maz, but I run my Ghia thru the same cab/spkr setup regularly when recording...It sounds HUGE. I bet your Maz will kill it thru 4x12 greenies...

how do you do that if a Ghia only has 4, and 8 ohm taps?

You can run a 16 ohm cab thru the 8 ohm jack with no worries...Just don't go lower.....

I am the happy owner of a Maz 38 SR top, that I have used for a long period with my Tall Vintage Marshall cabinet, and it sounds great. But even better is the the Maz 38 SR combined with my open back 2x12" cab with a Weber AlNiCo Blue Dog 16 ohm 30 watt light dope and a ditto Silver Bell speaker, and by the way - to me anyway - the "royal flush" combination is, when I use my Gibson ES 335.

I normally use the Dr. Z 4x10 - but i have a 1960AX cabinet with Greenbacks that i hadnt tried with the Maz38 until i read this post, dont know why though because it sounded phenomenal. When i record next im definately going to blend the 4x10 and the 1960AX. It's got a really huge sound, and has a beautiful 'sweet spot' where the pre-amp, power amp and speakers all break up.
I'm very tempted to get a 2x12 with greenbacks or alnico blues to run in unison with the 4x10 for live shows!

I've tried both my Maz Sr and Ghia through a Marshall 1960 w/ GB's and it was amazing. But my ear keeps coming back to the tightness of the Z-Best.
I also really dig the older (smaller) Z-2x10 cab. Still debating if I want to convert my Ghia 1x12 combo into a head cab mix.
But as of late, I've been running my Ghia 1x12 through my Z-Best. Sounds amazing!

I have a 2x12 open back with/CS Blue & Silver Bell....Until I got this new Weber cab/1x12 CS Blue..it was my fave...But, the 2x12 open back is still my "go to" when I plug in the 335...You GOTTA luv this stuff man... ;D T......

I had a well worn Marshall 1960 Classic 4x12 with Greenies and the Ghia flat smoked through it.
Also had a MAZ Jr NR head at that time........AC/DC anyone? Let there be ROCK!!!!
Yes, it sounded GOOD !!
That is when the JCM900 50 watt went to E Bay LOL.
