Just curious what other KT users are using for dirt sounds.
I've been using an AC and RC booster and love both.
I saw recently there is a DIY pedal called a Dr. Watt, which is apparently designed after the preamp of a DR504. Anyone try this?
Or any other pedal of a similar nature?

Hi jamieb82,
For my overdrive tones I use a BK Butler tube driver, a Fulltone OCD and a Keeley modded Boss Blues Driver. I can stack them for heavy overdrive or back off the guitar volume for light crunch. Love the OCD with a Tele, the other two go really well with my Strat.

In order: Zvex Super Duper (push the front end), Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive (clean boost), Maxon OD808 (tubescreamer-ish), Fulltone Fulldrive 2 (medium gain), Barber Small Fry (british, cleanish Angus Young kinda thing), MI Audio Tube Zone (high gain). The first three are rarely used standalone, they're usually a stack w/ one of the last 3. Many people raise their eyebrows at how many are there, but I play a few different style acts and this gets me exactly what I need in every situation.

the KT loves all pedals based upon my experience. it really depends upon what sound you're going for. my favorite OD and fuzz pedals for the KT (or Maz, or EZG) include... Fulltone 69 and OCD, Hermida Zen Drive, Retroman Beano and Scram.

Just curious what other KT users are using for dirt sounds. I've been using an AC and RC booster and love both. For overdrive I'm using a Barber LTD SR -- very controllable OD with good tone shaping ability (and internal pots for more control). I have an Analog man modded Boss SD-1 that I have recently taken off my board ... a little too 'harsh' for my tastes (at least with the KT45). And for harder rock sounds I'm using the MI Audio Crunch Box -- it definitely kicks things way up, but I find I have to twiddle my volume knob to get the 'sweet spot' on this pedal....

I've recently added a Maxon OD-808 to my board and this works really well with the KT.

So far in my ampQuest the KT is the best pedal accepting amp ever. I have had great luck with the AC Booster, Top Boost in a Box, Seymour Duncan Twin tube (dont leave home without this one), and a homebuilt fuzz from BYOC. This dang amp makes everything sound better! There is some kind of presence thang that enhances the pedals sounds without any harshness. The rest of the eq is so even and beautiful that everything kind of sits out forward in kind of a 3d relief. I wish I could explain it more clearly. I really like how the gainy sounds sit in the mix at a lower SPL than I run on other amps. BTW, the tube complement that Myles recommended for this amp is worth every penny. Unreal!
