If I were to get a different brand of combo/amp.... Like an AC30, could I mount one of these inside the combo cab?

Yes you can with an asterisk .
** Must be under 45 watts , and should have enough free space to mount it in the combo.
We will be showing pictures of Brake -Lites installed in common amps like Peaveys and Fenders. We ship them with foam back double sided tape which will allow mounting without harming precious Vintage amps.

Can I run a Brake lite with my EZG 50?? Or will I blow it to pieces?? Nope you need a big boy Airbrake for the EZG as well as the SRZ, the Delta 88 and KT-45, which is OK because they are all Heads only. Any four EL-84 amp will be safe. Z

I think I need to get one of these in my Chicken Chow Mein AC-30. Keith I don't know if it'll squeeze into the back of the Vox AC30 Custom Classic (especially since i put the deeper Red Fangs in there)...but I ordered a Brake Lite for it anyway. Keith

Hey; you don't have to mount it to an amp or cab. If you use many amps mount it to a block of wood or something; Then it would be like a stomp box. You don't have to mount it, you can just shake hands or hug. ;D

So Keith did ya get it in yet? Richard Still waiting for it to show up at my dealer....not sure how long the wait will be. Keith Just picke dit up today. Of course there are some mods to get it in...the speaker connectors are not via jacks...they are hard wired. So, I need to install some jacks..... I think it'll fit...gonna be tight if it does! Keith

OK...finally got around to installing it It took a bi of surgery ;D The AC30CC2 did not have a jack to plug in speakers. It had 4 hard-wired leads that connected to the speakers (Red/Yellow/White/Black). However, it had (2 x 8ohm speakers) but was running at 16 ohms Wirings looked parallel, but the result was series?? Turns out the white and yellow were actually tied together on the PC board..a shortcut 4 wires...in series So, I decided to install a speaker jack to make things easy. So, the yellow and white wires ae not used anymore and are tied-off inside the chasis. Here's the jack...looks like a factory job The BL works perfectly. Keith

Hey Keith,
What exactly are we looking at in that last picture. Did you cut that hole? What is that hole cut into?
I have a AC30cc1 and I'm thinking about getting a Brake lite and I'm wondering how difficult it will be to do the wiring. Mine has wires that are soldered to the speaker and go directly to the PCB just like yours. How hard was it for you?

Hey Keith, What exactly are we looking at in that last picture. The two black wires are the reverb tank wire coming down from the chassiss inside the amp back. Where you the the 1/4" jack is where the speaker wires should be coming down from the chassis in your amp. The pic I have posted is actually upside down ;D No. the hole was already there in mine. Mine was also one of the original amps that had the speaker leads soldered as well. I simply put a 1/4" jack in the same whole where the speaker leads came through the chassis. In a stock amp. there's a plastic grommet where the speaker wires come through. I removed the grommet and installed the jack. The wiring in the cc2 was a bit quirky as it looked parallel...but was actually series. All I did was tie off 2 wires in the chassis. I can completely reverse my procedure and have it stock again. I made no cuts/ extra holes/ mods to the amp except adding the jacks. I suspect it would be more straight forward for the cc1. You wouldn't have to tie off wires in the chassis. Keith

Nice, now I get it! Thanks for the explanation. Can I ask where you got the 1/4" jack that you installed and what kind of jack I should be looking for? I'm pretty new with amp mods. How difficult was it to add the jack on there? It seems like it wouldn't be too tough.

How difficult was it to add the jack on there? It seems like it wouldn't be too tough. Just a simple 1/4" jack (not stereo) at RadioShack. simply wire one part to the tip and one part to the sleeve. Very simple to add the jack. the hole was already in the chassis as a plastic grommet was in there stock. Basically it's just a couple quick solder joints. More thinking than doing!!! Keith

This is probably really stupid, but does it matter which part you solder to sleeve and which part goes to tip?

The "standard" is tip is wired plus and sleeve is wired minus.
