Playing through my acoustic amp lately, I haven't played my rig for a couple of weeks. I plugged into the RXES yesterday and no sound came out. The lights came on and everything, but the amp will not put out any sound. other amps work through the same setup, but not the RXES. The footswitch light is responding and everything, but just no sound.
I'm not too familiar with all of the internal parts of a tube amp, so I'm hesitant to approach a diagnosis on my own. I considered bringing it to a local electrician I know, but, if possible, I'd really appreciate the assistance and opinions that all of you guys have to offer.
Thank you, Kevin

Step back and look things over real close. First make sure all the connections etc. are right. I'm sure you already did that, but it bears repeating. 90% of all the problems I used to fix when I worked on this kind of stuff was mechanical in nature - things coming loose, falling out, breaking off or just plain disconnected somehow.
If all that seems ok, and especially the speaker plug and speakers, then the next step is to check your HV fuse, which is the 1/2 Amp fuse on the back. Don't just look at it, get a multimeter and check it. If you don't have a multimeter, it's time to get one at Radio Shack for about twenty bucks - it's a good thing to have around to check cords and fuses anyway.
I'm betting that's it. If the HV fuse was the problem, well then something caused it to burn up. That would likely be either the rectifier tube or the power tubes. That would mean you will need to get a set of those and replace the ones you have. Lay in a supply of those 1/2 Amp Slo Blo fuse because you may burn up another while trying the tube solutions.
If the HV fuse isn't the problem, then you may be in the territory of needing some technical help. But you can handle the fuses and tubes issues yourself.
Hope it helps!

Check all tubes. I had the same problem a while back and it was my rectifier tube.

I troubleshot a MAZ 38 for a friend over the phone recently where the recto blew and took the main and HV fuses with it.
I instructed him to change the recto and 3A fuse and when he powered it back up the tubes lit but there was no sound. I knew right away it was the HV fuse. He replaced that too and was back in business.

Hey, guys. It has taken me a bit to follow up on here, but I've been playing the RXES for over a week now. Turned out that just a fuse was blown. Everything seemed fine.
The fuse that blew was a 1 Amp fuse. Instead of a 1/2 Amp fuse, a full amp was in there. Is that possibly why the fuse blew, because it was the incorrect amount of amperes?
Thanks again, Kevin
