I'm looking at possibly acquiring a Maz 38 Sr. The owner isn't the original owner and does not know how old it is. It has the black knobs, and it seems to me that all of the newer Z's have creme knobs. Does anyone here (Dr Z?) know the approximate age of this amp based on the knob style? If not, is there a way I can date this amp if I can get my hands on the serial number?
Also: have there been any circuit changes, even minor tweaks to the Maz Sr since its release?
Any info is appreciated, thanks!

No knobs won't tell age as some orders come from stores with different knobs requested then the standard Ivory Radio Knobs.
But the date can be told from the serial number. I started to serialize amps in 1990 and used the letter A - followed by model and sequence numbers so A-XXXXX is a 1990 amp. Just count down the letter to the year, letter P is 2005.
The model upgrade to MAZ Senior was made late 2001 and no other changes have been made to the MAZ 38 Senior.

Hi,The serial number is on the back of the chassis. You can easily see it.
