Just a little more Galaxie love goin' on. Was at fellow-forumite rocket's place yesterday for the annual September soiree. And, Rob asked if I could bring an amp in case anybody needed one. So I figured I'd take the Galaxie. 112 combo. maybe too much fire-power, but definitely lotsa tone. It was supposed to be an outdoor/backyard playin' on the deck kinda thing. small crowd of 60 people or so. it rained. but the show must go on. everything was set-up in the living room. there were some other amps, but the Galaxie became the house amp for the night. Teles, strats, Les Pauls, and even a couple of electro-acoustics. everything thru channel 2. awesome. simply awesome. everthing sounded awesome. it was truly one rock'n good time. my wife (and everyone else that was the party) finally understands why I am so fond of Z amps. Doc, I think there may be a coupla orders called-in on Monday cheers always, eh Joel p.s. will try to post some pics soon.

What's the reason for not allowing the channel switch on the Galaxie on the amp (foot switch only)?

For the LIFE of me.....I cannot figure out why a person would want a button on the amp to switch channels...vs. a footswitch.
Guitar Player (& others) usually knock off points for said same . As, would I.
I am, in NO way belittleing your request, it's just that I don't understand why you would want the option. MOST people would rather have the "foot" option. Myself included.
I have a PV Delta Blues ( a KILLER little amp...30 watts/4 EL84's/ 15" spkr (mine has a JBL)). It has a boost switch that is ultra-cool. BUT...you hafta do it via a toggle on the amp...NO footswich option. I WISH it did.
Call me crazy, but.....gimme a footswitch vs. a toggle on the panel anyday.........JMO....FWIW...etc.......

I think I was misunderstood I like the idea of footswitchable, and that is the way it would be used 99% of the time. Why can't there be both (to make a silly example, your 2-year old hides away your foot switch ;D)...or you take the amp somewhere and forget the footswitch? My understanding is that the amp defaults to the 'clean' channel and cannot be switched to the 'dirt' without the footswitch. etc. I guess the point of my question was why can't there be both (apart from the pegged answer of the 'simplest path is the best')? Again, 99% of the time the footswitch is the no-brainer route players will take, but is the there a technical reason why there wouldn't be both...that''s all I'm really asking..... Keith

Given that scenario, my Bruthr.....I simply cannot answer your quez. I am NOT an amp tech/designer....merely a wannabe player.

THAT is cooness indeed man. If you dig upon old tweed tones, you will NOT be disappointed. Be advised Keith........that sumbeeotch is L-O-U double damn D.... LOUD!! I don't have a 4x10 here..wish I did. It's on me wish list. I have played it thru a Zbest w/greens (my fave)...a Vibro-King 2x12 w/V30's..an open back 2x12 w/2 100 watt V30 clones (Carvin..2nd fave)...and a 70's Marshall 4x12 w/ancient greens. I LOVE this amp man. The cleans aren't "Twin" clean, but they "are" that old, tweed twin/super/bassman/deluxe kinda sound that most blues players covet. The "dirt" channel is square in the plexi/cranked '57 Bassman/tweed low-power twin camp. A tele/strat will give you all the chime/front end OD you want. Plug in a LP/SG/335/JR/etc....Freekin' heaven man..... Glad you liked the clips, and I hope you will be a Galaxie covert. This amp just does NOT get enuff love around here.. Again....JMO....etc....

If he did....it's my Galaxie ;D LOL But it's likely not, but the Galaxie that was intended for me got sold in Oshawa @ L&M this week, so there's likely another Galaxie in Ontario. Keith

Joel,
How right you are 'cause here I am! Brand new to Z and my first forum post.
And I must say I love the Gal. Channel 1 is tight and with a great bottom end. Got to crank it a bit that night. (That's what she said.)
Hope we find the opportunity to jam and A/B compare our Gals at some point.
See ya for now.
