OK, I'm looking for a used Dr. Z to buy. I have had trouble deciding which one to get. I have less than $1000, so that will narrow it down some.
I love the video clips of Dean Parks' Carmen Ghia. IT sounds great. I think that would be perfect for my church gig. I am wondering how it would fair in my other band's gigs. We plays lots of weddings, smaller clubs, some bigger clubs. We usually mic the guitar, but I hate the sound of guitar in the monitors.
Will the CG give me at least some amount of clean even playing in a band, in the above listed situations. Our drummer is fairly loud.

I think for a cool portable amp that is really versatile, look at a MAZ Jr. The Z-28 would be another great option.

I got my Ghia on Ebay for $675. I have seen them go from $650-$875. If you have time, it is worth the wait.

I got my Ghia and 1x12" cab for $750, but that was a long time ago...
The Ghia is a great amp, but it's a loud one (not in terms of headroom, but I hope you're in a big church)...

Z Well Dr. Z, I've gotta say you've got some fine taste in automobiles, as well as amps! Some day I'd like to have a british green Karman Ghia to go with my green Carmen Ghia... What a picture the two of those would make together! My first car was a '72 VW Beetle, and I've been partial to old VW's ever since... The Beetles are great, but the Ghia's just have a style about them that I dig.
